Chiltern Firehouse Days

Restaurant Reviews / Friday, July 28th, 2017

Sunny Winter inside or long Summer afternoons outside – no matter what the time of year one of our favourite hang outs in London is at the Chiltern Firehouse in London’s Fashionable Marylebone – tucked behind the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street.

The Lowdown

Book early to avoid disappointment, but once you get on the email list they really look after you. The clientele are well heeled and have great expectations so service if efficient and well tended.

Drinks are generous and strong, food is relaxed seasonal and tasty – make sure you try the house speciality of the crab doughnuts – pictured below – they are amazing – be warned you only get 3 and if you are offered more they are not gratis – they charge for everything.

I’ve had all kinds of dalliances here from breakfast meetings, long lunches and long dinners and just love the relaxed atmosphere, exceptionally well groomed staff, considered and thoughtful lighting, eclectic decor and wonderful scents that are wafted around the place seduce you.

The staff don’t take kindly to you taking photos in the bar but are much more relaxed on the terrace outside and in the restaurant. The bar is not open to non residents after 8pm so if you want to sit at the beautiful bar sipping on a margarita make sure you go early.

And enjoy!
