Ah what a wonderful wonderful day we spent in the beautiful and special
From the welcome to the (sad) departure we were absolutely enveloped in the finest and most attentive – but not fussy – customer service.
We started our day with a wander around the gardens, taking in the beautiful backdrop and seeing where much of the home grown ingredients is tended. From the garden we were seated in the bar for aperitifs and to make our selection before moving into the dining room.
I ate from the vegetarian taster menu which was just heaven – seasonal and with lots of the homegrown ingredients we had wandered around – paired with a sommelier recommended French rose wine. My boyfriend and his mother (who’s birthday we were celebrating) ate from the seasonal meat and fish menu and drank a Kentish white.
We even caught a glimpse of the man himself!
