The Wild Rabbit

Hotel Reviews / Tuesday, November 7th, 2017

Is there anything better – as a dog owner – to stay in a beautiful village, in a fabulous hotel eating Michelin star food – with your dog at your feet? Well that’s what we did all weekend over the bonfire weekend at the Wild Rabbit.

And we all (human and canine) had a wonderful time – we stayed in the Mole (we’ve stayed before and stayed in the Rabbit) which is a dog friendly room to the left of reception on the ground floor – close to a little patch of grass perfect for the dog.

As we were travelling avec pooch – we weren’t able to eat in the main restaurant – which is set behind the main bar of the pub in a wonderful lofty room – but we could eat off the main restaurant one Michelin star A’la Carte menu in the pub – which we did on the Friday where dogs are very welcome. And then we ate from the pub menu on the Saturday night.

The staff in the restaurant and bar were just as wonderful on our second visit – attentive,  knowledgeable and accommodating.

We selected the Wild Rabbit as we wanted to be somewhere that was away from the city fireworks and although there was a display in the village – the noise in the pub and the super thick walls meant the dog didn’t hear a thing! and was totally relaxed.

Out of the pub and a few turnings and you are on the track that leads unto Daylesford – so we wandered up there to the Farm Shop to make some Christmas purchases and stock up on some lovely food which we took home – tip take a freezer bag!

We have already rebooked for the same weekend next year and will make it an annual trip. See you in the Winter!
