Nobu Ibiza Bay

Hotel Reviews / Sunday, June 9th, 2019

The perfect balance of indulgence and serenity – perfectly described our stay at the Nobu Ibiza Bay From our arrival to the time we left our balearic adventure was enhanced by our choice of hotel.

The Lowdown

From the moment we arrived, hushed into the stunning reception for a welcome drink – styled with soft furnishings, natural wood and artisan ceramics that perfectly reflect the island aesthetic – we felt at home.

The location is beyond perfect – right in the heart of bay, a 15 minute walk to the marina and 5 minutes in a cab to the old town – the perfect retreat.

The large reception area features the Bay café, Lounge Bar, entrance to Nobu, general lounge area, boutique (and shortcut to the second pool and Chambao), but the jewel in the crown is when you walk out of the reception and onto the terrace and see the main pool and view of the bay – simply stunning – twinned with the most generous of out door seating and and a beautiful pool bar space – it really is aesthetically perfect.

Our room was ready early – which was a lovely suprise as we arrived several hours before check in – we had a Deluxe Sea View. The rooms are long and narrow so don’t expect a super grand size unless you go up a level. The marble bathroom offers a rain-fall shower and separate vanity.

The stylish blend of locally-sourced Ibizan artwork and sleek modern conveniences in our Deluxe Sea View Rooms added to the luxury feel of the hotel – combined with a spacious furnished terrace overlooking, the Mediterranean Sea and Talamanca Bay.

Complimentary water was a welcome addition for our (daily!) hangovers.

We dined at Nobu on the first night which was just heavenly so many highlights but a stay at the hotel would not be complete without a reservation there. We wanted to experience all of the restaurants as well as exploring the Island – so we booked brunch at the Bay Café and sampled breakfast and lunch at Chambao on different days – the buffet breakfast at Chambao is expensive – but the variety is incredibly vast and plenty of options for vegetarians and plant based diets.

We had afternoon cocktails every day which were generously poured and brilliantly mixed and we ordered sushi by the pool one lunch which was a real highlight – and juice from the juice bar was perfect for the hangovers. Pre dinner drinks by the pool bar are essential!

The two pools are lovely – and so pretty. I was surprised that the main pool near the bar had to be paid to reserve with a minimum spend but to be honest the side pool is more private as its not near the reception area – so worked well for us.

The concierge was fantastic – making changes to our plans for us and even running us into town one night when they thought we would have to wait too long for a taxi.

Only (very slight) negative was a confusion over breakfast ordered to the room one day and that the yoga planned for the morning was changed to the evening and also changed to Tai Chi. Very minimal all in all and we REALLY look forward to returning.
