Picture a late June evening – not a cloud in the sky – wandering around the pretty but hot streets of Palma – slipping down a back street – heading to quite an under whelming hotel entrance – the Convent De La Missio a 17th century convent – and then you walk through the door and into a beautiful air conditioned haven – chic, sleek, contemporary minimalism awaits.
British chef Marc Fosh has become a bit of a celebrity and Restaurant Simply Fosh is a must-visit for foodies visiting the island.
Through the main reception Marc Fosh is located on the ground floor. There were four of us in the party – and 3 had the mainly meat tasting menu and I enjoyed the natural – for vegetarians and we had a fabulous experience from start to finish – the location, the service, the aesthetic, the food and wine – just to note we had more than a few bottles of the Project rosé wine pictured – it was delicious.
Be warned – the restaurant cite 7 courses but we ended up with 10! and you will expect to be at your table for 3 hours.
The natural menu is clean, healthy and fresh – all courses are local and seasonal and incredibly well put together with lots of taste.
My favourite course was the parsnip foam and muesli ice-cream – absolutely heaven.
This is one highly affordable Michelin star experience! A superbly relaxed and friendly destination in heart of a wonderful city.
Thank you Marc, Iris and the team!
