Located in picture perfect Positano – we headed by boat for a shopping and dining experience whilst staying on the Italian riviera on a hot August afternoon – tucked away on a side street – behind the hustle and bustle of the main shopping street lies the understated entrance to Le Sirenuse.
The Lowdown
Famous for its world class views – lunch and dinner are taken at La Sponda – reached down several enchanted flights of stairs.
Book your table early to avoid disappointment, the clientele are well heeled and have great expectations so service is efficient and well tended.
I was dining with my mother to celebrate a wonderful Summer season and loved the relaxed atmosphere, exceptionally well groomed staff, considered and thoughtful, unashamedly Amalfi decor and wonderful scents and lemon trees that are placed around the spaces to seduce you.
The food is classic for the region with their very own take on seasonal Mediterranean dishes. The waiters are experienced, patient and offer recommendations to suit your palette.
The sommelier is kind and the drinks are generous and strong, food is relaxed seasonal and tasty – make sure you try the Peach Bellini for an aperitif it’s so fresh. For food – try the melanzane parmigiana- it is amazing – be warned it’s a large starter and can be shared – and the ravioli is a sensation.
We were seated on one of the front tables – with a view of both the shades of pink rooftops to one direction and the sea to other – dreamy – so definitely ask to be placed on the front tables – although to be honest – any table is dolce vita!
Just a note – the staff don’t take kindly to you taking too many photos to protect the privacy of their guests – so discretion is key.
Make sure you head to Franco’s for a sunset cocktail or glass of prosecco.
We will return and stay over when we have more time – can’t wait to jump into that pool!
